Guide Specifications- Dou'bl&Vall FRP. orf <br />ge <br />C. Optional Fill Tubes <br />I . Fill tubes shall be FRP or contractor supplied and <br />installed aluminum. Locations are shown on <br />drawings. <br />2. FRP tubes shall be 4" diameter, with a G" x 4" <br />double -tapped reducer bushing, and include a b" <br />NPT fitting on the tank. FRP tubes can be installed <br />in manway cover or tank shell wall. Aluminum <br />tubes (contractor supplied) shall be 4" in diameter <br />and fit directly into a 4" NPT fitting. Tubes shall ter- <br />minate a minimum of 4" from the bottom of tank. <br />D. Gauge Plates - Gauge plates shall be installed under <br />each service fitting and manway opening. <br />E. Heating Coils <br />1. Optional heating coils shall be installed in a <br />separate 22" manway and shall be the standard <br />item supplied by tank manufacturer. <br />2. Location is shown in Dimensional Data on pages <br />7-9. <br />F. Optional Ladders - Ladders shall be the standard <br />ladder as supplied by tank manufacturer (aluminum, <br />carbon steel or fiberglass). <br />G. NPT Threaded Fittings <br />1. AI threaded fittings shall be a material of construc- <br />tion consistent with the requirements of the U.L. <br />label. <br />2- All standard threaded fittings shall be half couplings <br />and shall be 4- in diameter. Gasoline; gasohol (90% gasoline/ 10% ethanol mixture): 905% <br />gasoline and 9.5% Oxinol-50* (4.7546 methanol and 4.7596 `. <br />GTBA mixture): Dupont EPA waiver (gasoline with 5% metharxx S- <br />and a minimum of 2.5% cosolvent — the blend may contain a .';-k. -0' <br />maximum concentration of up to 3.7 weight percent oxygen in . <br />the final fuel): MTBE (methyt tertiary butyl ether — gasoline with <br />up to 20%. by volume, of MTBE: gasoline/water/ediariol or,,-.:. <br />methanol blend motor fuels including 100% ethanol or methanol <br />or M85 185% methanol) at ambient temperatures= jet fuel magas <br />kerosene: diesel fuel: new or used motor oil; or used for fuel oil <br />at temperatures riot to exceed 150" F. <br />3) Will not fail for a period of thirty (30) years from date of original pur- <br />chase due to structural failure (defined as breaking or_collapse) pro - <br />video the installation is performed and validated by a qualified instal- <br />lation contractor, installed in the United States, and the tank is used <br />as stated above. <br />3. Strength — NPT fittings shall withstand a minimum <br />of 150 foot-pounds of torque and 1,000 foot- <br />pounds of bending, both with a 2:1 safety factor. <br />H. Monitor fittings -Each monitor fitting shall consist of a <br />4" NPT fitting on the secondary tank. <br />Part III: Execution <br />3.01 Installation <br />Contractor shall be trained by the tank manufacturer, <br />the state or other approved agency. <br />3.02 Testing <br />Tanks shall be installed and tested according to current <br />double wall installation instructions provided with the <br />tank. (Refer to current publication and include as part of <br />specification.) <br />Part IV: Warranty <br />4.01 Warranty shall be manufacturer's current <br />standard warranty. <br />4) Will meet Xerxes -published specifications, and will be free from - <br />material defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) <br />year following date of original delivery by Xerxes. <br />9 any tank(s) is to be removed from an installation, moved to original <br />owner's new location and is intended for active service at the new loca- <br />tion, the tanks) must be recertified by Xerxes in order to -.maintain the <br />warranty as originally extended. <br />Xerxes' liability under this warranty shall be limited to, at Xerxes" option, <br />(a) repair of the cl&ectw tank. (b) delivery of a replacement: tank to the <br />pant of original delivery. or (c) refund of the original purchase `price. A <br />claimant must give Xerxes the opportunity to observe and inspect the <br />tank prior to removal from the ground or the claim will be .barred. All <br />claims must be made in writing within one year after tank -failure or be <br />forever barred.' <br />THE FOREGOING WARRANTY CONSTITUTES XERXES' EXCLUSIVE <br />OBLIGATION AND XERXES MAKES NO WARRANTY OR REPRESEN- <br />TATION, EXPRESS OR IMPUED, WITH RESPECT TO THE TANK OR <br />ANY SERVICE, ADVICE, OR CONSULTATION, IF ANY, `FURNISHED <br />TO CUSTOMER BY XERXES OR ITS REPRESENTATIVES, WHETHER <br />AS TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, <br />OR OTHERWISE. THE REMEDIES SET FORTH IN THE ABOVE WAR- <br />RANTY ARE THE ONLY REMEDIES AVAILABLE TO ANY PERSON <br />FOR BREACH OF THE WARRANTY OR FOR BREACH OF ANY <br />OTHER COVENANT, DUTY, OR OBLIGATION ON THE PART OF <br />XERXES HEREUNDER. XERXES SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR <br />INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY <br />DESCRIPTION, WHETHER ANY SUCH -CLAIM BE BASED UPON <br />WARRANTY, CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR <br />OTHER TORT, OR OTHERWISE. -- E - <br />*TM Arco Chemical Co.
