The following are
specific items taken to abate the violations.
1. Training was given on how to properly complete a hazardous waste label. A copy
of the training record is attached. All hazardous waste containers had the
necessary labels, but were not completely filled out. To help alleviate this
problem, preprinted labels were ordered.
2. Necessary precautions will be taken to ensure all hazardous waste manifests are
available for review. On the date of your inspection, you reviewed the past three
years of records and one manifest was missing. We have since located that
manifest and a copy is attached.
3. Upon your inspection, the Certification of Financial Responsibility and CFO letter
had not been received by your office. We did have those documents available and
corrected this issue by giving you a copy at the time of inspection.
4. Upon your review of the Designated Operator Monthly Inspections, parts of the
document for the October 2007 inspection could not be located. We have since
located the entire document and it is attached. In the future, we will take
precautions to ensure all documented inspections are readily available.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at (209) 948-0302
or by email at steve.azevedora.,kniferiver.com.
Sincerely,
PteveAzevedo
California Environmental Manager
www.kniferiver.com
Cont.
