TANK CLOSURE REPORT
2320 EL Dorado, Stockton, CA
Aegis Project No. 89-049
Page 6
3.0 RESULTS
The following subsections present the results of the investigative and
mitigative activities conducted at the site. The information addresses
a site assessment that explored the potential presence of hydrocarbons
around the existing ba
tank sin and within the proposed tank field.
Activities involved in fulfilling tank closure requirements included
evaluating soil conditions and assessing the presence of petroleum
hydrocarbons at the existing tank basin, and mitigation and disposal
of soils containing petroleum hydrocarbons which were encountered
during the tank excavation.
J"IM
Aegis submitted a "Pre -Tank Replacement Site Assessment Results
Report" in March of 1990. The scope of work and findings are,
summarized as follows:
A total of fourteen soil borings were drilled adjacent to
the old tank basin, in the vicinity of the product piping
line near the dispensing islands, and within the area of the
proposed new tank location as shown in figure 2.
Results from laboratory analysis of soil samples indicated the
following:
Petroleum hydrocarbons were not present at detectable levels
in soil samples submitted from boring locations near the
underground storage tanks.
Toluene and petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel were detected
in soil samples submitted from borings within the proposed
new tank location.
Petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline and diesel were detecterf]
in soil samples submitted from borings near the product
piping and the dispensing islands.
Additional information on the results of the preliminary site
assessment can be found in Aegis' "PreTank Replacement Site Assessment
Results Report" (Aegis, March, 1990).
