• Pipe or suh-asssembfies can be moved before the Far Saddles: <br />joints are cured if cam is taken that the joint is not To heat cure a saddle, place the heating collar over <br />disturbed. Banding or excessive movement Is not the saddle outlet. During cool weather, a wind shield is <br />advised. recommended to keep heat on the joint. Saddles must be <br />heat cured for two hours. <br />Operating Instructions - Refer to Bulletin F6040 for <br />complete operating instructions. All: <br />Do not bend or fold heating collar as this may break the <br />heating elements and cause the collar to work improperly or <br />not at all. <br />CAUTION: The uninsulated flap is extremely hot <br />X when the collar is on. DO NOT TOUCH with bare <br />hands. <br />Tighten the straps until the heating <br />collar is snug against the joint. <br />For Flanges: <br />For 3' and V flange joints, use <br />a heating collar that Is one pipe size <br />smaller. Remove the straps from 1, L3J!sp� <br />j"10 <br />the heating collar. <br />Carefuly turn the collar inside out <br />with the heated area facing lie I.D. or the pipe. Place <br />the heating collar in the I.D. of the flange. <br />• Asplit ring of pipe may be used to hold the collar in piece <br />while the joint is curing. <br />• Heat collar is riot available flor T flanges. An industrial <br />heat gun may be mqUred to oum, the joint. Exceeding the recommended cure <br />time on pipe joints where the heating collar overlaps <br />may shorten the life of the heating collar and/or damage <br />the pipe. <br />0.
