The --
most convenient place
to introduce air for the
containment piping pressure bmmt in at the threaded outlet
located on the termination fitting near the underground
storage tank. It is advantageous to leave the system
pressurized until the installation imcompleted bmmonitor for
possible damage tothe containment piping system during
additional construction.
The |oxv prmeeun: and low volume of the secondary
containment piping system makes this air test a safe
procedure if normal safety precautions are followed. Refer
boair safety precautions onpages 13-14.
NOTE: G^(15Omm) secondary containment piping isnot UL
Listed but maybe air tested when normal safety precautions
are fbIlowed.
Test Procedures for "in Service" Secondary
Containment UL Piping Systems to Include Open and
Closed Systems.
Secondary Containment piping systems can be tmmbyd
aftmr0heline has been installed and hm operation for mperiod
of time. Please read and
understand all safety instructions and considerations in
the FGS Smith FibersmstAnwtwVation Manual No. B2160
before testing.
Closed System
FGSrecommends testing 3^and 4^secondary containment
open systems with air at pressures not to exceed 10 pmig.
Pressure should beleft unthe system for mminimum mfone
hour.
