CANLPA'S LEAK RESPONSE nAN <br />In the event of monitor alarm triggered by leak: detection equipment, which includes <br />report spills, leaks, dispenser damage by cars or alarm. Trained contractors and <br />mechanics will be dispatched from a contractor list provided by Canepa's Carwash. Th_; <br />Following should be performed by contract mechanic: <br />I . Verify there is liquid in the annular space and determine if the liquid is hydrocarbon <br />or water. <br />a. If investigation verifies that there is product in the annular space, Dispatch will <br />immediately make arrangements to pump the annular space dry. Pumping of product <br />or water wiiI only be handled by a Canepa's approved contractor, product or water <br />removed will be appropriately manifested, hauled by a licensed transporter, and <br />disposed of at an approved site licensed to accept the material, <br />b. The Mechanic or Contractor will attempt to determine if the product has come from <br />the primary tank or some other sources, <br />C. If it is obvious (without doing a precision test) that the product has come from the <br />primary tank, Dispatch will immediately arrange for a tank pump out and <br />repair/replace activities will begin. In the case of repair, the Tank Test coordinator <br />will handle repair arrangements and precision testing. If replacement is required, the <br />appropriate zone Engineer will handle the project, <br />d, If the product in the annular space is water entering the tank from the outer shell, <br />repair/replacement activities will take place as noted in "c" above. <br />If it is determined that the liquid in the annular space is water and there are no <br />product losses from the primary tank and no indication of additional water entering <br />the tank, the Tank Test Coordinator will arrange for a precision test of the annular <br />space. Based on the results, repair/replacement activities will take place as noted in <br />cc <br />c» <br />f If the Maintenance Mechanic or Contractor is unable to determine how the liquid <br />entered the secondary containment, the Tank Test Coordinator will immediately have <br />the appropriate precision tests conducted. <br />& If it is determined at any time during the process that there has been a release (defin <br />as product leaking from the primary tank to the annular space or water entering the <br />annular space from the back fill), a leak report will be prepared and forwarded to th <br />Marketing Assistant -Compliance, The MA -compliance is responsible for reporting <br />all regulatory agencies as required, In addition, the Tank Test Coordinator will <br />prepare and forward a Fiberglass failure report.
