A fraction of <br />MtBE (up to 5%) converts to Tert-Butanol during the analysis of soil samples. We consider this <br />conversion effect to be mathematically significant in samples that contain MtBEfrert-Butanol in ratios of <br />over 3:1. Hydrocarbons reported as TPH as Motor Oil do not exhibit a typical Motor Oil chromatographic <br />pattern for sample SPI a -d.
