Carbon black contains trace amounts of adsorbed <br />polynuclear aromatic compounds (PNA) . In non -adsorbed form, some <br />PNA's have been found to be carcinogens in certain studies. 'No <br />carcinogenic effect has been found in animals or humans due '._o <br />exposure to carbon black. Carbon black is not considered a <br />potential carcinogen by IARC, OSHA or NTP. <br />Epidemiological studies of workers in the carbon black producing <br />industry have shown no significant health effects due to occupa- <br />tional exposure to carbon black. <br />-22- <br />
