(GRI) has been contracted by CONTEL to
perform the tank testing, necessary soil sampling and analysis,
and reporting of lab results. While uncovering the piping for
testing, soil samples will be collected from two feet below
elbows and unions or any pipe connection suspected of leaking
because of odor, wetness, or staining. Samples will also be
collected to confirm that there has been no leaking in the event
no field evidence of leaking is observed. Subsequently, samples
which appear clean will be discarded if the line pressure
testing indicates no leaks. Only samples with odor, wetness, or
staining will be analyzed if the lines pass the tightness test.
Guidelines in the LUFT Manual, May, 1988, page 13, item 6, C, 1;
page 16, item 6, D, 1; and Appendix page 60 will be followed.
B.C.
