SITE PREPARATION <br />AUTOMATIC TANK GAUGE PROBES AND CONSOLE <br />colqM31am <br />1.1 Review Figure I. <br />1.2 The minimum manway size shall be sixteen (16) inches in diameter. <br />NOTE: ALL RISERS SHOULD BE CENTERED IN THE <br />MANWAY. <br />1.3 Whenever possible, the center manway should be used for the <br />installation of the Probe. <br />1.4 The minimum clearance from the top of the riser to bottom of the <br />manway cover shall be 6 inches when installing into a 4 inch riser <br />and 12 inches when installing into a 3 inch riser. Maximum distance <br />from the manway cover to the top of the riser should not exceed 18 <br />inches. <br />1.5 The standard probe union kit is 4 inches in diameter (3 inch kit <br />available upon special order). . <br />NOTE: WHEN INSTALLING A PROBE WTIT-IIN THREE (3) FEET OF THE <br />SUBMERSIBLE PUMP OR FILL RISER, A DROP TUBE MUST BE <br />INSTALLED IN THE PROBE RISER BEFORE INSTALLING THE PROBE <br />ASSEMBLY. THIS DROP TUBE MUST BE POSMONED THREE (3) INCHES <br />ABOVE THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK. SYSTEM PERFORMANCE IS <br />ENHANCED WHEN THE DROP TUBE FOR THE FILL RISER IS <br />POSITIONED SUCH THAT THE ANGLE AT THE BOTTOM FACES AWAY <br />2.1 Review Figures H and III (EMS Conduit Requirements). <br />
