'6-ne Leak DetectiTh_ Probes
Inmost areas of the country, when the Tidel line leak detection probes are used as a monthly monitoring method for
pressurized underground piping, a .2 gallon per hour test must be passed once a month (check you local regulations
-for requirements in your area.)
The EMS is continuously trying to conduct and pass this required .2 gallon per hour test on the product lines during
times when there is no dispensing occurring. But due to the duration of the .2 gallon per hour test (30 minutes to 5
hours) the EMS may not be able to conduct this test automatically as a result of a station's high traffic and gasoline
volumes being dispensed.
If this should occur, the EMS console will generated a "LINE PRESSURE PROBE LEAK TEST REMINDER
-REPORT" (see Figure 9) a number of days prior to the end of the month (the number of days is set by the Tidel
Authorized Service Dealer.) In addition the red alarm LED will be illuminated, and on line four of the display a
"PROBE # REM" message will be displayed.
In the event that you receive such an alarm, you must provide adequate "Quiet Time" for the EMS console to
conclude and pass a .2 gallon per hour test before the end of the month. This may be accomplished by simply not
(dispensing) that grade of product for I to 5 hours so that the EMS may conduct a .2 gph test.
NOTE: Power must remain "ON" to the submersible pump as the submersible pump may be activated for
brief periods of time during the test by the EMS console.
Figure 9
LINE PRESSURE PROBE LEAK
TEST REMINDER
ID # 9M7
00:00.07 oar2m
PROBE 12
Associated Tank I-SUL
A condustive 0.2 qelolmr leak lost
has not been passed on this
product the (by this probe) during
this month.
You must provide adequate down
IIrneIn the next 05 days to allow a
test to run.
END OF REPORT (.006)
L----------------------- i
19
