INC. 2766 POMONA BLVD,, POMONA, CA 91768.3222 PHONE (909) 594.9850 FFAX (909; 594.6169
November 15, 2005
Verizon California, Inc.
Re: Cathodic Protection System Survey for the 6,000 — gallon underground storage tank
located at Manteca CO, 430 W. Center St., Manteca, CA 95336.
Dear Sir or Madam:
The cathodic protection (CP) system includes magnesium anodes connected through a
test station to the underground fuel tank, piping, tank hold down straps, and anchoring
system.
The survey was conducted by measuring the structure to soil potentials at all locations
described on the attached data sheet. Each potential was measured with and without
protective current. We used a digital multi -meter connected between the test points and a
saturated copper/copper sulfate CUCuSO4 reference electrode in contact with the earth.
The potentials recorded exceed the minimum of —850 millivolts (mV) as specified by the
National Association of Corrosion Engineers.
This survey was conducted in accordance with the procedures and test methods described
in the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (MACE) Standard Recommended
Practice RP -0285-95, Corrosion Control of Underground Storage Tank Systems by
Cathodic Protection and American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice 1632
entitled Cathodic Protection of Underground Petroleum Storage Tanks and Piping
systems.
SunWest Engineering Constructors, Inc. appreciates the opportunity to assist you in this
phase of your corrosion mitigation program. If you have any questions, please contact
Byran G. Shipley at (909) 594-9850 Ext. 18 at your convenience.
Thank you,
y
ran (Barney) Shipley
I hereby certify that I am responsible for the review and certification of the services
described in this document and for the preparation of this document.
