of hardcopy accountability of monitor status and EPA
required inventory reports.
The Series X76 LVC portion is designed to monitor liq-
uid level, vapor density, pressure and hydrostatic
pressure. The system gererates an alarm and may
shut down specific facilities if preset parameters are
exceeded. The microprocessor based system
provides visual and audible alarms, self -diasgnostics
and sensor failure indication, fail-safe shutdown and
auxiliary switch outputs for communications to a
facility's remote displays.
The liquid level sensors will indicate presence of
liquids in the annular space of double-wall tanks,
secondary containment pipes, manhole of caisson
compartments and in -tank high level to prevent over-
fill.
The vapor density, measured by the product's unique
vapor transducer, is indicated on the appropriate plug-
in module in parts per million (ppm) by means of a 4
1/2 digit LED display. The display not only indicates
the initial background vapor density in a vadose well
or the annulus of any secondarily contained vessel,
but also monitors an increasing trend of vapor den-
sity. The self-contained display also provides the
ability to set the alarm and shutdown setpoints
without additional calibration equipment.
The pressure measurement utilized to monitor pres-
surized supply piping reads the pressure decay
caused by a leak rate greater than 0.05 GPH occur-
ring between automatic test cycles (every 30 minutes).
A hydrostatic measurement is applied to the annulus
of a double-wall tank by detecting a loss of pressure
in the pressurized cavity or the loss of liquid level in a
reservoir or the annulus of the tank.
The X76 ETM System, housed in an attractive wall
mounted NEMA Type 1 Enclosure, contains the intrin-
sically safe barrier interface to the transducer, a num-
ber of three channel alarm modules, vapor modules,
and/or dispenser modules. The front door mounted
audible alarm and the flashing alarm lights are ac-
knowledged by the ACK button and functionally
tested by means of the TEST push button.
3.0 SITE PREPARATION
WARNING: Take necessary precautions to
prohibit vehiclesentering
during installation or service.
During
Code, product, comply with the National Electrical
codes,federal, state and local
complyplicable safety codes.
Failure to
propertyresult in serious personal injury,
damage.equipment
K
See Installation Drawing for dimensions and in-
stallation requirements.
A. For maximum height to volume conversion ac-
curacy, use one of the threaded bushings
closest to the center of the tank and install a
4" riser pipe (Ansi pipe Sch. 40). The top end
of the riser pipe should be threaded to accept
a four inch N.P.T., an 950 adapter, and a 950
locking cap with watertight cable grip, which
are supplied with the probe. Insert a 4"
diameter riser pipe; install adaptor and cap.
B. If the tank is buried, excavate the portion con-
taining the tank hole to be used. Remove the
plug from the hole and insert the riser pipe as
described above.
Note: Be sure there is enough clearance be-
tween the top of the riser and the bottom of the
manhole cover to allow room for the two -wire
cable supplied with the probe.
Install an #987 square manhole at each probe
location. Offsetting the probe riser will allow
added ease in junction box installation.
• `-r 11 -- -- .i •
•
WARNING: Explosion may occur if the con-
troller is installed in a volatile, combustible or
explosive atmosphere.
Failure to comply with these warnings could
result in serious personal injury, property loss
and equipment damage.
(Refer To Installation Drawing)
A. Select a mounting location on the inside wall
of an enclosed building that allows easy ac-
cess to the controller. When selecting a loca-
tion, consider the entry path of the probe wire
conduit from the underground tanks to the con-
troller. The controller should be located with
the LCD at eye level.
B. Run a 3/4" rigid metal conduit between the
breaker box and the X76 ETM controller for
the power wire input. If a plug connector is
