Conduit must enter controller where
prepunched conduit holes are provided.
C. Dig trenches as necessary, and install conduit
from the controller to each probe location.
Probe wire must enter controller through the
proper prepunched conduit holes.
D. The conduit can enter the probe manhole
through the bottom or side. The end of the
conduit should be as high as possible to
reduce the chance of water covering the junc-
tion box during heavy rain.
E. Lay 3/4" rigid metal conduit from each probe
to a junction box or wiring trough, located in-
side the building. Conduit must enter control-
ler where prepunched conduit holes are
provided. No other conduit entry is permitted.
WARNING: Explosion may occur if other
wires share the X76 ETM's probe wire con-
duit. Conduit from probes to controller must
not contain any other wires.
WARNING: Explosion and equipment damage
may occur if conduits do not enter the con-
troller through their designated prepunched
conduit holes.
Failure to comply with these warnings could
result in serious personal injury, property loss
and equipment damage.
Wiring between the probes and the controller is
designed with limited electrical power to probe
wires so there is insufficient energy to ignite fuel.
To maintain this safety feature, probe wires must
be installed in a separate conduit from all other
wiring. Probe wires MUST NOT be run in same
conduit as power wires.
3.4 • s•- Junction Box • r Vapor
Seal Installation
Install a vapor seal at both ends of the conduit.
One end must be at the probe end of the conduit
and the other end before the the conduit enters
the building. Install a weatherproof electrical junc-
tion box with a gasketed cover at the end of each
conduit at the probe location.
Pull the twisted pair shielded cable, #22 AWG or
heavier, between the controller and each probe
location. The wires must be designed for use in
the presence of gasoline and/or oil, and the con-
duit must be sealed in accordance with the Na-
tional Electrical Code, (NFPA 70), and meet the
specification pertaining to the product being
monitored as defined by Flammable and Com-
bustible Liquids Code, (NFPA 30), and other
local codes, since they pass from a Class 1,
Division 1 area into a non -hazardous area.
equipmentty loss and
powerWARNING: Turn off
panelsopening the front
power power
an,f Darrier4nvue-tLTmm-dr,-,--jtpuwo-if7-i a", 'L
Mounting: Select a mounting location on the in-
side wall of an enclosed building, protected from
severe vibration and extreme temperature. The
monitor should be mounted with the LCD at eye
level.
Wiring:
A. Open controller cover, remove the screws
holding the barrier plate and remove the plate.
B. Locate the input power terminal on the left
edge of the board between the top and bottom
edge of the board. See controller wiring con-
nection diagram on page 16.
