dwdw AUTOMATIC TANK LEVEL MONITORING <br /> CONTINUOUS ELECTRONIC MONITORING OF TANKS AND PIPING <br /> TANKS <br /> All Underground Fuel Storage Tanks are Double Wall Fiberglass construction. <br /> FUEL LINES <br /> All Fuel Line construction is Double Wall Fiberglass. <br /> VEEDER ROOT-TLS 350 MODEL/SIMPLICITY TANK&LINE MONITOR <br /> The design of this unit and the Simplicity Service Offering is to provide 24 hour remote tank and line <br /> compliance monitoring through Gilbarco Veeder-Root(GVR)in Greensboro,North Carolina,which would <br /> receive audible and visual alarms and provide corrective actions and tracking, in the event of leak <br /> detection.This system is interfaced to the manufacturer's computer system via satellite dish or phone line. <br /> The communication status is checked monthly by GVR. The expected GVR alarm response time is 15 <br /> minutes from the time the facility goes into alarm and Greensboro starts the corrective actions. The <br /> monitor retains 12 months of alarm history.The facility receives audible and visual alarms at the TLS 350 <br /> console,which reflect(1)lost communication,"Autodial Failure"and/or(2)gross line failure"Line Leak <br /> Shutdown."The facility personnel would call GVR for these events.Autodial Failure will cause the TLS <br /> 350 to come out of the remote monitoring mode and all alarms/warnings will occur on-site and will be <br /> responded to by on-site personnel.If power is removed from the monitoring panel,the facility will not be <br /> able to pump fuel. The authorized installation service contractor (Service Station Systems 1-800-628- <br /> 5510) would provide the training necessary to operate the tank and line monitoring system per the <br /> manufacturer guidelines.The facility operator is responsible for daily inspection of the monitoring panel <br /> (Alarm Panel Test Log - pending Agency requirements) and corrective actions indicated above and <br /> maintaining monthly and annual tests/reports on-site. For additional compliance items/reports, contact <br /> Shell's SH&E Compliance Coordinator. All component parts are LG-113 approved. <br /> TANK AND LINE TESTING <br /> The Veeder Root system provides electronic Continuous Statistical Leak Detection(CSLD)monitoring of <br /> the fuel tanks,Pressurized Lane Leak Detection(PLLD)of the fuel lines and continuous annular interstice <br /> monitoring at double walled facilities containment. In the event that a leak is detected, the system <br /> provides automatic notification through the phone line or satellite dish to GVR. Hard copies of monthly <br /> tank and line test results are to be mailed to the facility within the first two weeks of the following month <br /> by GVR The operatingfacility is responsible to maintain these compliance reports on site. The TLS 350 <br /> is annually inspected, repaired and certified operational by an authorized service contractor. The <br /> certification is sent to the local regulatory agency. <br /> Tanks (Fuel): Continuous electronic monitoring of the wet or dry annular/interstice and CSLD, <br /> continuous electronic testing at 0.2 gallon per hour(gph).A malfunctioning tank will result with an alarm <br /> automatically transmitted to GVR, which would in turn contact their service contractor for investigation <br /> and repair. There would be no fuel leak to ground in the event that the primary tank failed unless the <br /> secondary, were to also fail. Clean up of the secondary containment would be performed per Local and <br /> State requirements. <br /> Pressurized Fuel Lines: Continuous electronic monitoring of the dry secondary containment within the <br /> turbine sump, positive shutdown if a leak is detected. Also PLLD continuous electronic testing 3.0 gph <br /> (positive shutdown),0.2 gph(monthly/alarm)and 0.1 gph(annually/alarm),in combination with a turbine <br /> sump liquid sensor. If a gross leak alarm occurred here,the result would be fuel line shut down with no <br /> leak to ground [(Dry) annular/interstice]. A malfunctioning fuel line will result with an alarm <br /> automatically transmitted to GVR, which would in turn contact their service contractor for investigation <br /> and repair. Clean up of the secondary containment would be performed per Local and State requirements. <br /> If equipped,remote fill lines at the tank inlet are contained and continuously monitored(alarm). <br /> Under Dispenser Containment: Continuous electronic sensors designed to shut the dispenser down in <br /> the event of leak detection. <br /> Turbine Sump Containment: Continuous electronic sensors, designed to shut the turbine down in the <br /> event of leak detection. <br /> Tank Overfill Protection:Ball and float <br /> 3/7/2007 dwdw <br />
