Veeder-Root
Diagnostics (ISD)
Monitoring is the key to successful vapor
recovery compliance.
Veeder-Root's California Air Resources Board
(CARB) certified In -Station Diagnostic (ISD)
equipment is designed to monitor the collection
and containment of vapors by vapor recovery
equipment. Using the existing Veeder-Root TLS-
350/EMC platform, probes and Dispenser
interface Module (DIM) cards, the ISD software
continuously monitors the vapor recovery equip-
ment, maintains test records, provides test
reports, and generates warnings / alarms follow-
ing equipment failures.
The ISD system includes the following new com-
ponents:
Vapor Flow Meter (Sensor) — One per
dispenser, designed to measure the volume of
vapors collected during vehicle refueling for
vapor collection monitoring
Vapor Pressure Sensor — One per station,
designed to continuously measure contain-
ment tank pressures for leakage and over-
pressure conditions for vapor containment
monitoring
ISD Software Enhancement Module (SEM) —
One per TLS, activates ISD software
technology
The ISD system monitors gasoline vapors from the delivery
tanker to the tank of a car to ensure that the vapor recovery
equipment is operating properly and the air remains clear.
tf VEEDER-ROOT
ISD can be added to any TLS -350
allowing you to leverage your
investment and centralize moni-
toring and recording activities.
- p
5
Jty ; s an issue ` e'
• NVMEM 2 Board — (Non -Volatile Memory) One at effects per TLS, provides memory expansion necessary for ISD , .
report storage
Americans every day.
As of the September 1st, 2005 implementation date, ISD
systems are required for new and rebuild stations in CA Veeder RQ?,S iSD
that dispense more then 1.8 million gallons / year. The
implementation date for new and rebuild stations dispens
s
ing more then 600 million gallons / year is April 2006. For "
'-"u

both throughputs, existing stations must retrofit an ISD hazardous emissio
system within four years from the implementation date. b "
For details as well as to view the CARB Executive Order that lead to air
requiring Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) and In -Station
Diagnostics (ISD) see the CARB website at
http://www.arb.ca.gov/vapor/eos/eo-vr202/eo-vr2O2a.htm. p € t* r
Benefits of the Veeder•Root EVRASD system:
CARB certified to meet Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) & In -Station Diagnostics (ISD)
requirements
Alarms when there is a vapor collection problem on a hose
Alarms when the vapor space is leaking
• Can be added to existing TLS -350 console system
• Sensors are able to share wiring conduit with other Veeder-Root intrinsically safe (IS) sensors
• Interfaces to the existing Smart Sensor Interface Module (either the 7 input or 8
input version)
• Simple installation, compatible with all dispensers
• Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed
Continuous monitoring of the vapor recovery system including notification if the systems
performance drops below required level
• Archive the reports required to meet California regulations
• Reduction in emissions related to failed or degrading equipment
• Leverages existing TLS -350 equipment
