(Shaw) is pleased to present this letter report detailing field <br />activities and laboratory analytical results from the soil sampling activities conducted at <br />the above-mentioned parking garage (Figure 1). <br />Field activities consisted of collecting one soil sample from underneath a vapor recovery <br />tank, associated with a 10,000 -gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST) used for <br />refueling of San Joaquin County fleet vehicles. Field activities outlined in this report <br />were performed on May 18, 2004. <br />Field Activities <br />On May 18, 2004, Shaw personnel arrived at the site in order to collect the soil sample. <br />Prior to Shaw's arrival, TAIT Environmental Systems, Inc. (TAIT) personnel had <br />uncovered and removed the vapor recovery tank. Native soils encountered below the <br />base of the tank consisted of a light brown, loose sandy clay with gravel. No petroleum <br />odors or discoloration were noted with the soils. <br />One soil sample was then collected from one foot below the base of the excavation under <br />the direction and supervision of Ms. Dina Abate of the San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Department.
