Jack Tone Rd.
Ripon, CA 95366
Dear Mr. Dow:
This letter, report, and enclosures document the results of the leak detection services performed
by Shirley Enviro Testing, L.L.C. at the above referenced site. Actual field work was performed
June 16, 1998.
The scope of work included:
* Performing volumetric line tests on six pressurized product fines associated with the fueling
systems utilizing the AcuRite® line tester.
* Simulating a fuel release on six product lines to determine if the mechanical line leak detectors
are operating properly.
The AcuRite® volumetric product line testing method was utilized to evaluate possible volume
losses from the pressurized product delivery system(s). Line tests are conducted at a pressure
greater or equal to 1.5 times operating pressure. According to industry evaluation, the AcuRite®
line tester has a confidence of 100% when leaks in excess of 0.10 gallons per hour (gph) are
measured at 10 psi. The tester has a sensitivity of 0.001 gph and a leak is indicated by a measured
leak rate of 0.01 gph or greater at 1.5 times operating pressure.
The operation of the in line mechanical leak detectors (LDs) associated with the pressurized
fueling systems were evaluated by simulating a fuel release in the pressurized product lines. If
flow is restricted during the leak simulation the LD passes, if flow is not restricted during the leak
simulating the LD fails.
P.O.
