• Validation issues with report number 60734:
Values reported for p,m-xylene that are below the MRL should be considered estimates. Values
for p,m-xylene are reported to the lower CRDL of 0.50µg/L.
Matrix spike/ matrix spike duplicate results associated with sample MW-30 for the analytes
benzene and MtBE were affected by the analyte concentrations already present in the
un-spiked sample. This flag was due to percent recoveries outside of QC limits. Relative
percent difference (RPD) values were in QC range in the matrix spike (MS) and matrix spike
duplicate (MSD) indicating a degree of precision. Both percent recovery and RPD values for
benzene and MtBE were in range in the laboratory control spike (LCS) and laboratory control
spike duplicate (LCSD) indicating both accuracy and precision,; thus, reported values are
considered valid.
The percent recovery for beryllium and chromim were outside of QC limits in the LCSD
indicating a lack of accuracy in reporting. Both RPD values in the LCS/LCSD and MS/MSD for
the two analytes were within QC ranges indicating precision in reporting. In addition, percent
recovery for the two analytes was in range in the MS/MSD also indicating a degree of accuracy
in reporting; thus, reported values are considered valid.
Validation issues with report number 60756:
Values reported for p,m-xylene that are below the MRL should be considered estimates. Values
• for p,m-xylene are reported to the lower CRDL of 0.50 µg/L.
Matrix spike/ matrix spike duplicate results associated with samples MW-9, MW-18, MW-21 and
MW-22 for the analytes benzene and MtBE were affected by the analyte concentrations already
present in the un-spiked sample and were out of QC limits for percent recovery. RPD values
were in range indicating precision. Both RPD and percent recovery were in range in the
LCS/LCSD indicating both accuracy and precision; thus, reported values are considered valid.
Percent recovery for mercury in the MS/MSD was out of QC range indicating a lack of accuracy
in reporting. RPD values were in range, indicating a degree of precision. In addition, both
percent recovery and RPD values were in range for mercury in the LCS/LCSD; thus, reported
values for mercury are considered valid.
Percent recovery for cadmium was out QC limits in the LCSD. RpD values were in range in the
LCS/LCSD indicating a degree of precision. Additionally, both percent recovery and RPD
ranges for cadmium were within QC limits in the MS/MSD; thus, reported values for cadmium
are considered valid.
Hydrocarbons reported as TPHo were lower boiling point than typical motor oil for sample
MW-9.
The method reporting limit for TPHd was increased due to interference from gasoline range
hydrocarbons for sample MW-18.
•
1008OSSRORSRQMR.Final.doc 15 April 30,2008
77TW.26397.42.1307
