Stantec
L & M OPERABLE UNIT-THIRD QUARTER 2010 SITE STATUS, REMEDIAL SUMMARY,
AND GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
Status of Remediation Activities
October 27, 2010
3.2 APARTMENT SVE SYSTEM
The Apartment SVE (ASVE) system has operated near continuously since May 31, 2007
following retrofit construction that began on December 12, 2006. The ASVE system is
' comprised of horizontal wells (ASVE-1 through ASVE-6), a 100-gallon liquid/vapor separator,
and a Solleco 250 cubic feet per minute (cfm) vapor extraction system with a Roots URAI 56
10-hp positive displacement blower. Vapor from both the ASVE and the SVE (discussed in
' section 3.3) system is abated with a 750 scfm thermal oxidizer.
Since May 31, 2007 the 750 scfm SVE and ASVE vapor abatement system has been operated
under SJVAPCD ATC number N-4878-2-0.
The ASVE system has removed approximately 2,076 pounds (340 gallons) of TPHg, and
' 0.13 pound (0.02 gallon) of benzene from soil vapor beneath the Delta View Apartments to date.
No measurable MtBE has been removed to date. During 3Q10 (July 12, 2010 to September 15,
2010), no measurable amount of TPHg, benzene, or MtBE was removed. The ASVE system
' was shutdown from August 28, 2010 to September 15, 2010 for due to the automatic shutdown
of the DPE system and subsequent repairs and modifications to the system. Historical ASVE
system operations and analytical data are presented in Tables 18 through 20.
' 3.3 SVE SYSTEM
The SVE system has run near continuously since May 31, 2007 following retrofit construction
that began on December 12, 2006. The SVE system is comprised of horizontal vapor wells:
SVE-1 through SVE-11, a 100-gallon liquid/vapor separator, and a Solleco 500 cfm vapor
' extraction system with a Roots URAI 59 20-hp positive displacement blower. Vapor from both
the ASVE and the SVE system is abated with a 750 scfm thermal oxidizer.
' Since May 31, 2007 the 750 scfm SVE and ASVE vapor abatement system has been operated
under SJVAPCD ATC number N-4878-2-0.
' The SVE system has removed approximately 2,243 pounds (368 gallons) of TPHg and
0.14 pound (0.02 gallon) of benzene from soil vapor beneath the L&M OU to date. No
measurable amount of MtBE has been removed to date. During 3Q10 (July 12, 2010 to
' September 15, 2010), the SVE system removed approximately 64.8 pounds (10.6 gallons) of
TPHg soil vapor. No measurable amount of TPHg, benzene, or MtBE was removed. The SVE
system was shutdown from August 28, 2010 to September 15, 2010 for due to the automatic
' shutdown of the DPE system and subsequent repairs and modifications to the system.
Historical SVE system operations and analytical data are presented in Tables 21 through 24.
' IMdewterl Stacton(Paae12A.0415)\Reports\oMR@010\0n10\3p100SSRQRSROMR Stmkton_FINALCoc 3.2
