browser.
Hi Keith and Mike,
I went by the facility again today. When I arrived on site, there was a
diesel smell in the soil. When Patriot excavated down (directly next to the
road), a diesel/water mixture started to come out of the road. All the
other locations were cleaned to EHD standards. The current plan is to place
absorbent in the area where the diesel was leaking out. After a few days it
will then be checked on. If no more diesel is leaking out, then that last
area will be deemed clean to EHD standards. I do know that there are going
to be people from the base assessing the spill as well. They may have
further/additional requirements.
The other thing I want to mention is that a Cal OES spill report should be
created for this incident. The number to call would be (800) 852-7550.
Thank You,
John Alaniz
From: John Alaniz [[H]
Sent: Tuesday, April 2, 2019 2:53 PM
To: 'Keith.winter@fedex.com ' <Keith.winter@fedex.com >;
'rn.wendling@erlIc.conn' <m.wendling@erlIc.com >
Cc: Garrett Backus [EH] (gbackus@sjcehd.com ) <gbackus@sjcehd.com >;
'clouglas.c.guentherciv@mail.mill <douglas.c.guentherciv@mail.mil >
Subject: RE: Notice to Abate
Hi Keith and Mike,
I stopped by the facility and there is further remediation that needs to be
done by the second gatehouse. Please see the attached pictures. Dirt near
the gate house had a very strong diesel smell. There is also a puddle that
had some diesel in it. Please send me a new cleanup plan.
Thank You,
John Alaniz
