AST Primary vessel construction (describe) Double-wall Poly IS09000/9014 in compliance with 40CFR-
264. 193 — Vertical Poly AST /Mfr: Poly Processing
3 . AST piping (describe) 2 in . PVC pipe from upper level fill point to the top of the tank for product supply.
The waste coolant is pumped into pipe from portable transfer pump which is utilized during from operations
as a coolant exchange in the sublect vehicle. And is gravity fed into the waste coolant tank. PVC Supply pipe
has manual ball valve shut off in-line, at tank.
4 . Internal/External pump description Filling of the AST is achieved via gravity feed from the upper level thru
the piping to the connection of waste coolant tank. There is no dedicated Hump for waste coolant. Filling by
using exehanee transfer pump which is for operatlons of coolant exchange, along with gravity feed Into lower
level tank. Ancillary equipment is secured to wall or to tank fittines, & supported and protected against
Physical damage and excessive stress due to settlements vibration , expansion or contraction (see Pic)
5 . AST foundation (describe) concrete submfloor, Base of AST under UL 142 adequate to withstand the load
of a full tank-Tank is anchored to concrete floor.
8 . AST anchoring (seismic zone/flontation risk) AST is anchored, with steel flange anchor feet which are
welded to outer shell of tank, & % in . anchor bolts into the concrete floor, thru the openings provided in the
tanksanchor flanges. Stockton is a (groundshaking) seismic region, These anchors are intended to secure the
tank during a seismic event. There are two scenarios which would create loads upon them . The first scenario
is an empty tank. With an empty tank, the expansion anchors resist the overturning moment through their
tensile (null-out) capacity. Since the anchors are installed at the perimeter of the tank, the distance between
anchors fin either direction) provides a sufficient lever arm for the concrete anchors to not exceed their
allowable pull-out capacity. The second load case is with a partially full or full tank. In this scenario, because
the liauid fills the bottom of the tank and increases its weight, the governing load case becomes the shear
capacity of the concrete expansion anchors In the shear loading, all anchors resist the loads and their
allowable capacity is not exceeded . This load case is conservative in its analysis since it neglects the friction
force created by the weight of the partially full or full tank. This tank's rear is against the concrete support
