9. AST will withstand frost-heave XX Yes No AST is anchored to concrete wall set in a steel berm
and located in a covered secured lubricants enclosure not subject to weather conditions
10 . AST previously relocated? Yes XX No
11 . AST Corrosion Protection Tank is covered in paint, with no evidence of external corrosion. Tank has
no specific corrosion protection beyond the paint. No part of the AST touches the ground. The base of the
AST is steel , raised 1 inch from the steel berm floor. There is no evidence of internal corrosion taking place.
Tank's construction material is carbon steel. As this tank is not in anv contact with the ground , there is no
need for further corrosion protection such as cathodic corrosion protection.
12. AST Spill Prevention Equipment Filling is a remote operation via external pumps. Product is not handled
outside of the intended containers . Tank has secondary containment via steel berm which has adequate
containment capacity to contain 100 % of the product of both tanks set in the berm . Pumps have a check
valve to prevent siphoning from tank back thru pick up hoses . Tank has continuous electronic monitoring
with algrms & pneumatic auto shut downs at high product levels._ Hydraulic hose pick ups are stored upright
when nol ig , use , to preventspillage from drains a of product_remaiai in the hose after fillin o rations.
The filling,sy§lem also has manual ball-valve shut downs at the pumps and at the tanks in the case that the
automatic shut down system failed. The manual ball-valves were found to be in the "open" position and in
good working condition, with free movement handle and ball-valve.
13 . Overfill Protection: AST has continuous electronic monitoring, with electronic monitor BJ. Enterprises
007 alarm with visual- alarm for Wevel detection. Alarm actuates and sound with a siren at 103dB when
product levels achieve 90% of tank capacity. System also has a BJ Enterprises 007 SV auto shut down when
high levels are reached along with manual shut down ball-valves at the pumps and at the tank in case the auto
system fails, Alarms were tested at time of inspection and found to he in good working condition . At the
pump location, there is also an alarm box which would alert an operator of high product levels in the tanks.
Was Toxic Considerations : Used mineral-based crankcase oil is the brown-to-black, oily liquid removed from
the engine of a motor vehicle when the oil is changed. It is similar to unused oil except it contains additional
chemicals from its use as an en ire lubricant. The chemigis in oil include hydrocarbons, which are distilled
from crude oil, and various additives that improve the oil's performance. Used oil also contains chemicals
formed when the oil is exposed to high temperatures and pressures inside an engine. It also contains some
metals from engine parts and small amounts of gasoline, antifreeze, and chemicals that come from gasoline
when it burns inside the engine.
14b : Additional Hazardous Considerations : Waste Oil can be Ignitable & create fires under certain conditions,
are c2mbustible, or have a flash point less than 60 °C (140 °F), in addition to a slightly corrosive hazard. which
can corrode & break down metals over long periods of exposure. Itis not normally a reactive nor. does it
generate large amounts of vapors, -which would be an addjtional fire hazard , however, this tank is fitted with a
2-jnch atmospheric vent on the primary tank, which is properly sized to this tank and the venting_
requirements as annotated for the listing thru Underwriter's Laboratories,
15 . AST secondary containment (material/design/listed) AST has secondary containment via steel berm to
completely capture any leaks from primary vessel. Secondary containment was inspected , is intact and AST
is suitable for continued usage. AST sits within a secured-covered lubricants enclosure . Leak detection is
visually, ascertained via visual inspection of secondary containment area. Steel thickness of the secondary
containment was measured to . 109 in . steel thickness average, 20 points were ,measured on the berm. The
berm containment capacity is 598 gals. gross containment, with 501 gats. containment after displacement.
16 . Damage to AST or systems . No damage reported by,. Owner/Operator. Upon inspection, no evidence of
weld breaks, punctures, cracks, or other structural damage to the tank. Leak detection is assured_ Via
inspections of the secondary containment. Steel thickness of the primary vessel was measured to . 109 in .
averse. Steel thickness of the berm was measured to . 109 in., Average.
