T-172(Rev.12/17) <br /> Storage Tank or Vessel Monthly "In-Service" Inspection <br /> Visually survey the tank, attachments and surrounding areas for unreported conditions, or perform gauging and alarm checks. <br /> Not all procedures maybe performed by the same individual. <br /> For Canadian sites, note that routing, distribution and control room/control center coordination will be as per local or GTOM procedure. <br /> Visually scan the tank shell for product leaks, major buckling, cracks or tears in the steel, visible bulges, deformation or distortion, significant flaking paint or <br /> Shell corrosion. If the tank is insulated,including portion of its piping,visually scan for damage to insulation,caulking,weather proofing and evidence of water ingress. <br /> Visually scan the bottom plate projection or chime for"knife gel, rrosi or plate leafing corrosion;corroded chime including corroded shell-to-chime welds <br /> ere paint has peeled off. If there is an existing sealant,c ck f am . Include inspection underneath chime where corroded support such as a steel <br /> Chime channel is present. For double bottom tanks,verify there is in the space between the bottoms(interstitial space). <br /> Visually scan the roof for sinking,pools of product or blocked drains and ts. <br /> Roof Visually scan the Seals to determine in place,intact and free of defects. ( les,tears,loss of contact) <br /> Visually scan foundation for water undercutting of the foun (washouts) or new large cracks in excess of 3/4" that have been determined to be new or <br /> Foundation growing.Visually scan for vegetation growth such as weeds s scan for differential settlement. Verify water drains away from tank and foundation. <br /> Appurtenances include valves,drains,mixer,dresser coupli w n irder and stairs and lighting.Visually scan for significant signs of breakage or leaks. <br /> Evaluate bladder if equipped. Verify that thermal relief isola ocked/tagged open and in correct operating position. <br /> Visually examine other tank fittings and components such acables,drains and roof ladder are in good condition,i.e.no leaks,malfunction, <br /> damage or corrosion. Visually scan the level,pressure and auges are in good condition and in proper operating position(not isolated). Verify vents are <br /> not blocked. <br /> Where readily and safely accessible,visually scan tanks equip a protection systems:no blockages to the spray nozzles or deflector plates,base foam <br /> Appurtenances injection valve is in correct operating position. <br /> HIHI Alarm Check the HIHI Alarm in accordance with LOP,I&M Manual,or GUM91110 06-001. <br /> Tank Gauge Hi Level Handline the tank for monthly measurement purposes. The o be involved to confirm handline,MMI readings,and P&CD and high level alarm set points. <br /> Setting Verification If the handline and MMI are out of tolerance,the calibrate activity ' gered through ME notification. <br /> PAGE 2OF2 <br />
