Julk301811 : 45a Ron 's Auto Service (209 )366 -2214 p . 4 <br /> ROLE OF THE EMEGENCY COORDINATOR <br /> 1 : Whenever there is an actual emergency situation, the emergency coordinator (EC) must: <br /> a . Activate internal facility alarms or communication systems if their help is needed . <br /> b. Notify appropriate state or local response agencies if their help is needed . <br /> 2 : Whenever there is a release, fire or explosion, the EC must immediately identify the nature of <br /> the problem, exact source, amount and extent of any released materials. This can be done by <br /> direct observation or use of records, manifests or material safety data sheets or by chemical: <br /> analysis if necessary. <br /> 3 : The EC must access possible hazards to human health and the environment, resulting from <br /> the release, fire or explosion. Examples include toxic gases or hazardous materials running off <br /> site when control measures are used. <br /> 4: If local areas may need to be evacuated, the EC is responsible for notifying local authorities. <br /> The EC must also be available to provide technical information and to assist officials in the <br /> Decision . <br /> 5 : The EC must notify state or federal agencies if the emergency extends outside the facility. <br /> 6 : During the emergency the EC must take all reasonable steps to ensure that fires, explosions or <br /> releases do not spread to others hazardous materials or wastes stored at the facility. Control <br /> measures must include : stopping processes and operations, collecting and containing released <br /> hazardous materials or wastes and removing or isolating collected hazardous materials. <br /> 7: If the facility stops operation for fire, explosion or releases the EC must monitor for leaks, <br /> pressure buildup or problems with process equipment at the facility. <br /> 8: Immediately after the emergency the EC must provide for treating, storing or disposing of the <br /> recovered waste , contaminated soils or surface water or any other hazardous material that <br /> results from a release, fire, or explosion at the facility. <br /> 9 : The EC must insure that all required written reports are filed with the appropriate regulator <br /> agencies within the required reporting periods . <br /> No C IV <br /> JUL 3 0 2013 <br /> ElNVIIZONNIENTA L IIEALTIi <br /> D4 4N "1 <br />
