From: Steve Corral <SCorral@americantr.net>
Sent: Friday, May 17, 2019 2:51 PM
To: Gaitan, Jason
Subject: 4/29 inspection of ATS Manteca yard
Attachments: amrican valley 2018.pdf
Good afternoon Jason,
I think we have all of our violations corrected. I think that the only sticking point is going to be my lack of a paper trail on my waste oil
and filters. Prior to this winter there wasn't a full time crew in the shop. Rest assured that in time we will get the blanks filled in and be
compliant from this point on. I will address all of the noted violations in sections as they were in your report.
Item#301
As we moved through this section it seemed that most of the violations were a result of poor house keeping. We cleaned all of the
secondary containment bins and put the containers back in a single row with the labels facing out.We put a Hazmat label on the
drum that we are collecting waste anti freeze in.We consolidated the contents of the five gallon pails and disposed of the empties.
We drained all of the oil in various containers that were in the yard, the contents of those containers went into our waste oil tank.
You used the term"metal fines"around our bench grinder. We carefully gathered the material and after dragging a magnet through it
to see if there was any metals we found none. The cleaning of parts produced the black substance that was leftover as a result of
that cleaning. We cleaned this up and deposited it in our dumpster.
Item#304e
The barrel of used antifreeze was marked with the appropriate label with all of the required info filled in.
Item#401
The contents of those cans was in fact asphalt samples from previous jobs,we disposed of these into the trash
Item#403
In this section most of these items are solved though better practices in our daily duties. This became one of the subjects in our shop
meeting today
Item#502
1 used the sheet given by you to begin recording the daily tank inspection
Item#605
Again poor house keeping was the culprit here.We separated the barrels that our waste filters are stored in that way there is an aisle
between the two kinds of filters that we are storing with the labels facing out so they are easily identified.
That gets us to the end of the report, hopefully we have done enough to spare you from having to reinspect.
Thanks,
Steve Corral
