Summary of Additional Findings
Sample results are included in section II below.
II. Laboratory Results and Waste Determination
All samples were analyzed using EPA-approved SW-846 Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste,
Physical/Chemical Methods or the DTSC ECL-approved test methods. Below is a Summary of Laboratory
Results table that lists the analytical results for samples exceeding hazardous waste thresholds in red bold
lettering. The complete analytical laboratory reports are included as Attachment 6, Laboratory Reports.
Four of the nine samples collected were hazardous for one or more of the following: soluble chromium,
nickel, lead and copper; fish bioassay; corrosivity.
Sample TCS-05 is a waste because it was leaking from a pipe onto secondary containment, and mixing with
rain. The sample is hazardous for toxicity (Fish Bioassay) and corrosivity. Note: The facility staff (and
signage in the area) state that it is "Process Make Up Water (containing 1-12% bleach) Pumped Back for
Reprocessing". The facility must provide documentation to support this claim.
Sample TCS-06 is a waste because it is wash water generated from hydrotesting compressed gas cylinders
that previously contained chlorine gas; there is no intended purpose for the wash water. The wash water is
hazardous for toxicity for several California-regulated metals, and for corrosivity.
TCS-07 is a waste because it is not an unused product; the solution was a gray color with tan, foamy spots
on the top; a spent material. The solution is hazardous for corrosivity.
TCS-08 is a waste because it is solution that drips from a pump next to a sodium hypochlorite tank. The
solution is in an open-top container and is not labeled as a product. Facility staff (and signage in the area)
state that it is "Process Make Up Water (containing 1-12% bleach) Pumped Back for Reprocessing".
1 of 4
Dr_:V-1 A11 nIon 10
