c, s Appendix A AGE-NC No. 04-1168 Page 4 of 5 bsg). • Total xylenes were detected in soil samples collected from borings MW1, MW2 and MW3 at concentrations of 0.086 mg/kg (MW1 at 35 feet bsg), 0.052 mg/kg (MW1 at 45 feet bsg), 0.046 mg/kg (MW2 at 50 feet bsg), and 0.014 mg/kg (MW3 at 50 feet bsg). No other constituents of concern were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the samples analyzed. On 10 October 2005 AGE published Monitoring Well Installation and Quarterly Monitoring Report which reported all monitoring well installation site activities, findings, and recommendations for continuation of quarterly groundwater monitoring. AGE received an EHD directive letter, dated 30 November 2005, approving continual quarterly groundwater monitoring. QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING EVENTS Quarterly groundwater monitoring commenced on 05 August 2005(third quarter). Utilizing site groundwater monitoring wells, MW-1 through MW-3 the initial samples were analyzed for: • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified-as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA Methods 8015M; • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes(BTEX)in accordance with EPA Method 8260B; and • Fuel additives di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), 1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-DCA)and ethylene.dibromide(EDB)in accordance with EPA Method 8260B. Above constituents of concern are to be reported as part of the quarterly monitoring event analysis until an EHD approval letter providing a modified sampling schedule is received.. Reported findings of historical and current quarterly groundwater monitoring event analysis are documented on Table 2.
