DEFINITION OF HAZARD EVALUATION GUIDELINES <br /> Hazard: Airborne Contaminants <br /> Guideline Explanation <br /> Threshold Limit Value The time-weighted average concentration for a <br /> Time-Weighted Average normal 8-hour week day and a 40-hour work <br /> (TLV-TWA) week, to which nearly all workers may be repeatedly <br /> exposed without adverse effect. <br /> Permissible Exposure Limit Time-weighted average concentrations similar to <br /> (PEL) (and in many cases derived from) the Threshold Limit <br /> Values. <br /> Immediately Dangerous to Life "IDLH" or "Immediately dangerous to life or health" <br /> and Health (IDLH) means any atmospheric condition that poses an immediate <br /> threat to life, or which is likely to result in acute or <br /> immediate severe health effects.
