SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak Geo Environmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Kim Affonso to conduct <br /> a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for her property located at 1424 South <br /> Jack Tone Road, Stockton, California. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br /> cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br /> been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br /> Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study were conducted to determine <br /> whether the soils are suitable for use with a septic system, as well as to estimate if the <br /> use of septic systems will impact ground water quality. The study was performed <br /> according to the requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County <br /> Development code. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> Ms. Affonso plans to convert a portion of the existing shop on the Site into a two- <br /> bedroom second unit dwelling. <br /> Site Description <br /> The Site is composed of Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 183-020-08, 2.83 acres in <br /> size. The Site is located at 1424 South Jack Tone Road, Stockton, California (Plate 1). <br /> A three-bedroom home, a shop, and several outbuildings are currently located on the <br /> Site. A domestic well and septic system serve the existing home (Plate 2). <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 60 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 3). <br /> According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is zoned AG- <br /> 40, limited agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. The San Joaquin County <br /> Community Development Department states that this zoning designation "is intended to <br /> recognize and preserve areas that contain existing concentrations of small-scale <br /> agricultural operations and dwellings." <br /> LOGE 20-22 Page 1 <br />
