4.0 Conclusions <br /> The remedial activities were successful in removing TPH-containing soil identified in areas <br /> surrounding former process equipment at the site.The primary source of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons to groundwater was removed by excavating the upper 12-14 feet of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-containing soil below the area of the former station. The installation <br /> of one new on-site groundwater monitoring well will provide additional analytical data, <br /> along with two existing site monitoring wells and piezometers to evaluate the effectiveness <br /> of soil excavation to reduce petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in shallow groundwater. <br /> PG&E will retain use of the southern portion of the former fenced station area.
