Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan
GIANELLI PROPERTY
7925 Thornton Road, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Richard S. Calone of Richard S. Calone, Inc.,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc. (AGE) has prepared the enclosed Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan for the property at
7925 Thornton Road, Stockton, California(the site). The location of the site is illustrated on Figure
1. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2.
This work plan is prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) for the procurement of a soil boring permit. The
investigation is being performed to determine if an impact occurred as a result of the former
operation of underground storage tanks(USTs). Therefore, the work plan is prepared in accordance
with Appendix A to Tri-Regional Recommendations -Reporting, dated 30 August 1991, prepared
by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Appendix A - Reports) for the
investigation of UST sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The site is located in a commercial area of northern Stockton, California, at the intersection of
Hammer Lane and Thornton Road.(Figure 1).The site is presently occupied by Manny's Restaurant.
2.1. SITE DESCRIPTION
A small single story restaurant (Figure 2) presently occupies the property. The property was the
former location of a Texaco gasoline service station from approximately 1954 until 1974. Since
1974, the property has been used as a restaurant.
2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
According to research performed by representatives of AGE, one or more petroleum USTs were
removed from the site in 1974. San Joaquin County PHS-EHD and assessors office have no record
of the UST removal; there is no indication that soil and/or ground water samples were collected
beneath the USTs at the time of removal. Possible former locations of the USTs and dispenser
islands, inferred from historical aerial photographs, are illustrated on Figure 2.
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
