Scope: <br /> Instructions for properly identifying, handling and labeling hazardous waste <br /> 2. Responsible Individuals: <br /> Employees who generate waste and have the training in the following departments. <br /> Automatic, Fabrication, Tool room, Maintenance, New Tooling <br /> Note: PPE Personal Protective Equipment- Proper gloves, eye protection must be worn when <br /> handling listed waste at all times! Dust masks must be used when handling laser dust. <br /> 3. Special Definitions: <br /> SDS — Safety Data Sheets <br /> Hazardous waste label- Label used to identify a drum or other container to store and transport <br /> waste (white preprinted or yellow) <br /> Laser Dust- metal dust less than 500 micrometers generated from metal cut by a laser (light <br /> brown/Gray) <br /> Metal fines- metal shavings created from drilling or metal work (dark gray/black mixed with <br /> lubricants <br /> Used Oil- Oil that is no longer usable and is now a waste ( black or dark brown) <br /> Waste Coolant- Used fluid that is used for cooling purposes in machines (dark green/brown) <br /> Latex Paint- Water based paint used to paint our products (gray) <br /> Spill Clean up absorbent- a process to clean up spills using absorbent (light brown when <br /> unused, dark brown when saturated) <br /> Absorbent pads (pig blankets)- used to maintain control of fluids (gray) <br /> Absorbent sox- used to control a spill of fluids to maintain control and to protect the <br /> environment <br /> Waste Liquids- oil, coolant, oily water, hydraulic fluid <br /> Waste Solids- Grinder waste/filters, epoxy's, rags, absorbent <br /> Waste Paint- used paint, watery paint, aerosol cans <br /> Non-Conforming Product (Scrap) - Product that does not meet specification. <br /> Author: Dave Olney <br /> Rev: 1 Issue Date: April 22,2019 <br /> Unless marked as a "Controlled Document", this document is uncontrolled if printed, per OP# 15. <br /> See the Branch Document Control Rep for a controlled copy. <br />
