Assembly Bill (AB) 300. the Safe Body Art Aut, was signed into State law. The |avv <br /> takes a en[ on July 1. 2012. and requires that Body Art shop owners, operators, and <br /> practitioners register with the local enforcement agency. In San Joaquin CoUOb/, the <br /> enforcement agency is the Environmental Health DepmdnlSOt (EHD). To implement the new <br /> Safe Body Art Program, EHD conducted 8 workshop on April 30. 2012, to provide an overview <br /> of the new law and the proposed program fees. The law contains new requirements for body art <br /> practitioners oawell osfacility design and construction standards. <br /> All practitioners must register with EHD by July 1, 2012, to be in compliance with the new law. If <br /> you have registered with EHD previously, you will need to re-register so that your record may be <br /> updated. If employed at more than one body art shop, you will only need to register oncS, but <br /> you will need to list all shops where you are working. There are no permit fees at this time. EHD <br /> will review and process the applications for registration, and if there are any unmet requirements <br /> or the application is iDCO[Op|8t8' EHD Staff will vvO[h with the applicant to complete the <br /> registration process. Booed on the registration applications neoeived. EHD will send the permit <br /> fee invoice to each oxvner, operator and practitioner in September 2012. EHD must receive <br /> payment prior to the issuance of the facility and/or practitioner pa[nOit. as the permit will be the <br /> proof Ofregistration. The permit will b8retroactive toJuly 1, 2O12. and will bevalid for one year. <br /> Enclosed are three registration forms: 1\ Body Art Practitioner application, 2\ Master File <br /> Record | (green), and 3\ Master File Record || (pink). The Shop owner is required to: <br /> 1. Complete the three fo[nOa /OOe p3Ch@ge\ for the facility and the three forms (one <br /> package) for each practitioner. Please submit the forms toEHD prior tmJuly 1. 2O12. <br /> 2.
