TATTOO AFTERCARE <br /> After care is very important for producing a beautiful and lasting result. <br /> • Keep tattoo wrap on for 3-5 days —The tattoo treats an open wound, so you want to <br /> keep the tattoo clean. If tattoo wrap isn't applied, wash your tattoo afterward with <br /> unscented 2nti-bacterial soap. <br /> Pain Management — Clients can take an Advil or Tylenol for pain manager-lent after the <br /> procedure. <br /> • Ointment — To promote heasling, apply Aquaphor/Vaseline/Afterinked or any tattoo <br /> aftercare ointments everyday after procedure (if you have tattoo wrap, wait until you <br /> take off the wrap). <br /> • Avoid Picking— Do not pick or pull the scabs. Let them fall off on their own naturally. <br /> The area that was picked at will heal splotchy. <br /> • -Touch Up —A touch up can be schedule if tattoo heals splotchy. <br /> What's Normal? <br /> • Swelling, itching, scabbing, light bruising and dry tightness. <br /> • Too dark and slightly uneven appearance. After 7-14 days the darkness will fade and <br /> once swelling d ssipates unevenness usually disappears. If they are too dark or still a bit <br /> uneven after 4 'Meeks then we will make adjustments during the touch up appointment. <br /> • Color change or color loss. As the procedure area heals the color will lighten and <br /> sometimes s-eem to disappear. This can all be addressed during the touch up <br /> appointmen. and is why the touch up is necessary. The procedure area ha=t o be <br /> completely hea ed before we can address any concerns. This takes at least 4 weeks. <br /> • Needing a touch up months or years later. A touch up may be needed c few years after <br /> the initial procedure depending on your skin, medications and sun exposure.
