Aftercare Procedure: Describe the written recommendations and care provided to <br /> the client after a body art procedure. <br /> After a client has gotten a new tattoo they are instructed to wash the tattoo thoroughly at <br /> least 3 times a day, with an antibacterial soap such as liquid dial until the tattoo is <br /> completely healed. In addition to using the soap, the client is instructed to use some type <br /> of moisturizer on their new tattoo. Such as; Aquaphor, unscented dye free lotion, or <br /> H2Oceans aftercare products until the tattoo is healed. <br /> All tattoo clients are also instructed on things to avoid such as exposure to direct sunlight, <br /> gardening, swimming and contact with anything else that may prolong the healing time. <br /> Clients are also instructed to watch for signs of infection such as; dark discharge, <br /> excessive swelling, pain or dark lines going from the new tattoo and towards the heart. <br /> And when to seek medical treatment. <br /> P. Procedure for an accidental Spill: Describe the clean up and disinfection procedure <br /> taken when there is an accidental spill of sharps. <br /> The person that cleans up the spill will put on their protective equipment before cleaning <br /> up the spill. Once the protective equipment is on, all sharps will be picked up and placed <br /> back into a sharps container. All of the outside surfaces of the container will be sprayed <br /> with a cide and allowed to soak for 3-5 minutes before being placed back on the wall <br /> mount. The area where the sharps spilled is also sprayed with a cide and allowed to soak <br /> for 3-5 minutes before being wiped down and scrubbed with soap and water. After <br /> scrubbing all items are again sprayed with a cide and allowed to soak for 3-5 minutes <br /> before being wiped. If the sharps was spilled on the floor the floor is also mopped after <br /> being disinfected. <br /> Q. Trash Receptacles and Disposal of Contaminated Trash: List the type of trash <br /> receptacles and their location throughout the body art facility. Describe the procedure for <br /> disposal of contaminated items such as gloves. <br /> All procedure area trash receptacles are metal and have a closing lid. The trash <br /> receptacles in the restroom are plastic. The trash receptacle in the cleaning room is metal <br /> and has a closing lid. Gloves are thrown in the receptacles in the areas where they are <br /> used. All trash receptacles are emptied when they are full and at the end of the day. <br /> R. Negative Failed Spore Test: Describe the procedure conducted when a monthly <br /> spore test has failed. Indicate whether the facility maintains a monthly spore test log on- <br /> site. <br /> If a spore test fails, we would check the log book for the date it was autoclaved on before <br /> it is mailed in for testing.
