Small squeeze bottles with soap and water mixes that are used during a tattoo are kept at each workstation and wrapped with barrier film or plastic bag before each tattoo. F. Sharps Containers: Describe the procedures for the safe handling of sharps and indicate the location of the sharps containers.Indicate disposal frequency for sharps waste. After each tattoo or piercing,all sharps are immediately placed into the sharps container with the tip of the needle facing away from the artist and client. Each procedure room has a wall mounted sharps container in it. The disposal frequency will vary. Once the sharps containers are full,they are disposed of within 30 days by a medical waste hauler. G. Sharps Disposal: Describe the disposal of sharps used during a body art procedure. 1.Needles and needle bars:needles and needle bars are placed into the sharps container immediately after a piercing or tattoo.
