(See <br />Attachment A) <br />H) For RESTOCKING your facility SPILL KIT: <br />(1) The Manager/Supervisor should complete the <br />,SPILL KIT SUPPLIES REORDER FORM, and take <br />the form IDA the KIT to the Environmental <br />Services office. <br />(2) A new, fully stocked kit will be returned <br />to the Manager/Supervisor. The Manager/ <br />Supervisor will replace Kit to storage <br />location. <br />(2) <br />HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE OR WHEN THE MATERIAL -IS UNKNOWN: <br />A) The Department Manager/Supervisor should evaluate <br />for appropriate actlon plan; <br />(1) In thecase of spills involving largamounts <br />of ahazardous substance, and/or for those <br />spills endangering.employees and/or patients/ <br />visitors, or requiring special equipment or <br />supplies not furnished by the hospital, the <br />STOCKTON FIRE DEPARTMENT will be called in � <br />for ass! stance. <br />(2) If a 'gas' is the hazardous material, the <br />.' <br />Engineering Department isallays called, <br />_ since gas lines may needto be shutoff, etc. <br />C) For a liquid or powder spill, an appropriatesized <br />-SPILL KIT(S) should be obtained. � Interim <br />procedures to be taken are: <br />(1) Block area from traffic, using barricades. <br />'(21 Evaluate lW'thearea is dahgerous, and~should <br />be evacuated. <br />(3) If area is felt to be safg�, initiate appro- <br />priate containment procedures, using the <br />'Pigs' from the nearby , or some <br />other absorbent material. {Environmental <br />Services can bring the 20 -GALLON SPILL KIT(S) <br />to the scene.
