Environmental Services staff is responsible to report any problems or unusual conditions found regarding <br />the sterilizing unit to Maintenance. Environmental Services staff is responsible to exchange filled sharps <br />containers with empty units. ES staff to monitor the fullness levels and change out when 3/4 filled to avoid <br />potential stick injuries and exposures. Designated Environmental Service staff will process biologic <br />testing on a monthly basis. Test results remain on file in the Facilities Management office after <br />documentation is complete <br />B. Pharmacy Services staff is responsible for removing and managing the filled pharmaceutical waste <br />containers. <br />C. Maintenance shall be responsible for making repairs. <br />a) Equipment calibration will occur annually with records on file in Facilities Management. <br />b) Use of a licensed medical waste transporter will provide back-up collection and disposal service <br />should a malfunction in the sterilizing equipment occurs.
