PATIENT AREAS: A & B COMPLEX <br />Page of <br />1 2 <br />Effective Date(Date Replaces <br />2/9/81 <br />The Housekeeping Service Worker assigned to each area shall on a <br />continuous basis throughout their shift remove trash form patient <br />rooms, nursing stations, work rooms, lounge areas, etc., and <br />place in designated collection area. Liners are to be replaced <br />daily. <br />Trash will be picked up from collection points at the following <br />times; <br />A.M. SHIFT - 8:00 - 8:45 a.m. <br />2:00 - 2:45 p.m. <br />P.M. SHIFT - 9:00 - 2:45 p.m. <br />Each Housekeeping Service Worker shall assure all collected <br />trash from assigned area is at collection point by the scheduled <br />trash pick up times. <br />2. TRASH CREW: <br />Using the trash cart, take elevator on "B" side of building <br />and proceed to collection areas on 5th to lst floors. Bring <br />all collected trash to trash compound and place in compactor <br />and activate to crush. <br />Using infectious waste cart proceed to collection areas and <br />remove infectous waste. Place all infectious waste in <br />infectious waste bin. (key to infectious waste bin may be obtained <br />from Housekeeping Supervisors) <br />Upon completion of trash detail clean and disinfect elevators, <br />clean and disinfect both trash and infectious waste cart and <br />place in storage areas <br />*NOTE: Be sure both compactor, infectious waste bin lids are <br />closed and locked as well as gates to trash compound. <br />All employee's assigned, must wear gloves during pick <br />up and disposal. <br />Reviewed: <br />Revised <br />a�l <br />. 0 12 076 , I 1 6:1) <br />0 95-1 <br />
