2. Only Chemotherapy and hazardous substances waste can be <br />discarded into RCRA waste containers. <br />3. The Used RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) container <br />is transported to the hazmat storage facility by Environmental Services <br />and awaits final transportation by a licensed Hazardous Material <br />transporter. Copy of the original manifest shall be documented at the <br />hospital as stated by State and Federal law. <br />D. Linen <br />1. All personnel handling contaminated linen will wear gown and glove. <br />2. A linen hamper with a chemotherapy bag will be placed in the patient's <br />room by Environmental Services when informed that a patient is to <br />receive chemotherapy. Do not overfill chemo waste bags. The bags <br />must fit into the large 18 gallon rectangular RCRA (Resource <br />Conservation and Recovery Act) container for pickup by a licensed <br />hazardous material vendor. The contaminated linen is removed <br />from patient room daily or when bag is full and replaced by <br />Environmental Services staff. <br />3. All contaminated linen will be placed in 18 gallon black RCRA <br />(Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) container and temporarily <br />stored in Hazmat shed.
