It is securely tied and placed in the in- <br /> fectious waste garbage can in the utility <br /> room, or taken directly to the designated <br /> storage area in Station II. <br /> 3. All used needles, syringes, and other sharps <br /> are to be placed in the "Sharps Collector" <br /> provided at each nurses station immediately <br /> after use. The disposable "Sharps Collector" <br /> r is a red, rigid puncture resistant container <br /> with a special one way opening. Attached to <br /> each container is a cap which is used to seal <br /> it prior to disposal. This container is <br /> labeled "Infectious Waste" and is marked <br /> "Fill to this line only". It is sealed and <br /> replaced every seven days or sooner if <br /> sharps reach the fill line. It is placed <br /> directly into the Bingham bin in the de- <br /> signated storage area on Station II. <br /> DISPOSAL: 1. Off-site infectious waste disposal is pro- <br /> vided under contract with: American Environmental <br /> Management Cornoration <br /> - 11855 White Rock Road <br /> Rancho Cordova, California, 95642 <br /> 2. Two times weekly the American Envioronmental Mang.Corp. <br /> will pick up the filled bins from the <br /> designated storage area on Station II <br /> and replace them with clean lined ones. <br /> 3.
