Each bag will be labeled with the words "Infectious Waste" or with the `international biohazard symbol and the word "Biohazard,". Sharps which have been crushed or otherwise processed so as to make them incapable of puncturing cutting and which have not been rendered noninfectious shall be contained in disposable rigid, puncture-7proof containers which are taped closed or tightly lidded to preclude loss of the contents. The rigid containers shall° be double-bagged as for all infectious waste unless the containers are labeled with either the words "INCIOUS , AST ", or the international biohazard symbol and the word "BIOHAZARDE . INFECTIOUS WASTE STORAGE The infectious waste that was first placed in a red plastic bag and then in a second red plastic , bagr is stored in either a movale, . lekroo , rodent-proof plastic container that has a tight-fitting lid or a disposablefibreboard container. All containers receiving infectious waste shall be picked up as often at required and replaced with clean disinfected containers. INFECTIOUS WASTE PICK- P AND TRANSPORTATION Employees of WD. Bingham, Inc. will pick up and transport the infectious waste of the participating institution to one of its regional processing facilities. The vehicle driver and/or handler, upon #rriving at the institution, will move the sealed storage containers of infectious waste from the storage area to the closed, secured vehicle. The vehicle driver and/or handler will be: 1. Provided with a disinfectant solution for self-use in disinfection, if infectious waste accidentally comes into contact with the body. 2. Instructed in the proper use disinfectant application. 3. Required to wear protective clothing including loves while handling and transporting infectious waste.
