INFECTIOUS WASTE POLICY AND PROCEDURE <br />POLICY: <br />This facility operates with an envioronmental permit to main- <br />tain infectious waste. Contaminated needles and syringes are considered <br />infectious waste are handled in the same manner, however, they are <br />stored in a puncture proof contanier. This waste is locked in a sepe- <br />rate area at all times, unless being transported by authorized <br />personnel. The area provided a manner and location which affords <br />protection from animals, rain, wind and does not provide a breeding <br />place or a food source for insects or rodents. The waste is double <br />bagged in red3 p <br />The <br />waste is placed in containers labeled in <br />the same manner. To disinfect hard non -porous surfaces, add 3 ounces per <br />gallon of water. Treated surfaces must remain wet 10 minutes. <br />y( At this use -level, this product is also Virocidal and <br />(c' fungicidal. <br />b.
