MHU111122
May 2, 1977 MAY 3 1977
V a " a
42
San Joaquin Local Health District
1601 East Hazelton Avenue, P.O. Box 200*5
Stockton, CA 95201
Attention: Mr. Alfred Olson
Registered Sanitarian
This letter is in regard to the Gross Convalescent
Hospital of 321 W. Turner Rd., which is in need of confirmation
in regard to the proper procedure pertaining to infectious
wastes which we have compacted in the past.
Infectious wastes seldom come about in our facility,
but if it exists, we have and will continue to use double
p;lastic liners, and in case of gross infection., even sterilize -
the material prior to compaction. I have received information
from other facilities including one acute hospital. It seems
customary in this territory, where incineration is not allowed,
to deal with infectious wastes this way.
I am hoping that you will approve of this method, and
that I soon shall hear from you.
Rev. Oscar r S,
Administrato
i
