When a red baa;or red container is not used, all wastes containing blood or body <br /> fluids will be identified by a Muhazard tab,Inbel.or sign. <br /> Purpose of Using Biohazard 2. The primary purposes of the hazard warning label are to warn about possible <br /> Labeling Tags occupational exposure and to prevent accidental injury or illness to anyone who <br /> may be exposed to hazardou,, or putentially hazardous conditions, equipment, or <br /> operations. <br /> Duration of Binhazard 3. Biohazard labels, tags, or signs will remain in place until the identified hazard is <br /> Labeling Identification eliminated or the hazardous operation is completed. <br /> Exception to Using the 4. Biohazard labeling tags used by our facility shall contain the following <br /> information: <br /> a. The word "Biohazard" or the biological hazard symbol. (The word <br /> "Biohazard" will be readable at a rninimtrtn distance of five feet 0.52m) or <br /> greater,as warranted by the hazard.) <br /> b. The specific ha7ardous condition or the instructions to be communicated to the <br /> employee(presented in writing,graphically,or both). <br /> Description of Biohazard/ 8. The word"biohazard"anti the hazardous condition shall be depicted and described <br /> 11azardous Conditions so that anyone can understand the nature of the hazard. <br /> Relevant information 9.
