Protective Equipment to be used: <br /> Disposable Gloves <br /> • If your hands are likely to come in contact with blood or body fluids <br /> • If you have cuts, wounds, or scrapes on hands <br /> • If you have chapped or a skin rash condition <br /> • if you will be bagging any i4feetive materials <br /> Disposable Gowns and Masks 4�r <br /> • Gowns and Masks must be worn at all times while coming into contact with <br /> residents located in isolation rooms, blood, body fluids, or the handling and <br /> bagging of Bio-Hazard waste <br /> Procedures: <br /> Needles, Sharps, and Pharmaceutical Prescriptions disposing <br /> • Sharps will be placed directly into impervious ,rigid, leak-proof and puncture- <br /> resistant containers <br /> • Sharp containers will be appropriately mark with the bio-hazard symbol <br /> • Sharp containers are located in all shower rooms and on Nurse Medication <br /> ca its <br /> • Sharp container receptacles will be placed at eye-level to personnel with easy <br /> access and visualization <br /> • Needles will not be recapped, purposely bent or broken by hand, removed <br /> from disposable syringes or otherwise manipulated by hand <br /> • When containers are full they will be removed and place in a Bio-Hazard <br /> barrel located in the accumulation "Bio-Hazard" room <br /> • All expired pharmaceutical medications will be put in a .plastic Blue Cap <br /> sealed Bio-Hazard container and label "Incineration Only"When the <br /> container is full, lock and seal the cap and place on the floor in the Bio- <br /> Hazard room to be pick up by vendor <br /> Cmc- Lry et�nv <br /> C��\ <� Gs. <br /> V,I <br />
