MEDICAL WASTE DISPOSAL: <br /> All medical waste as defined in California Administrative Code, Title 22 <br /> and syringes and needles will be stored and disposed of in the following <br /> manner: <br /> (a) Medical wastes generated in all areas of the Medical Office will be <br /> placed in waste receptacles, double lined with red plastic liners, <br /> or in special double red lined white cardboard containers marked <br /> Biohazard Waste, and bearing the. Biohazard Symbol. <br /> Environmental Service Aides will. collect all double red bagged <br /> medical waste, tie off securely and-transport to the Medical Waste <br /> storage room for further transporting -by.AmericanEnvironmental <br /> Management Corp. , to their incinerator facility, located .at 11855 <br /> White Rock Road, Rancho Cordova, California 95670. (916) 985-6666 <br /> ( Special double red.bagged lined white cardboard containersmarked <br /> Biohazard Waste will be collected by Environmental Service Aides,, <br /> bags tied off securely, box taped closed :and. transported to medical <br /> waste atosage room for further transporting by' above mentioned <br /> company. <br /> (b) Pathologic 'specimens stored in plastic containers 'designated- for <br /> . ` <br /> incineration will be plainly marked for same and. will be afforded <br /> special handling by the Medical Office Environmental Service Aide <br /> who will pick-up designated containers from the Pathology Department <br /> and transport them to the Medical'Waste storage locker for further. <br /> transporting by American Environmental Management `Corp. , to. their <br /> incinerator facility. <br /> (c) All medical wastes will be kept separated from non-medical solid <br /> wastes in the- collecting and transporting, procedures in order to <br /> insure that medical wastes are'not disposed of in :the trash <br /> disposal facility. <br /> r <br /> (d) Medical wastes are picked up daily at designated pick-up areas by <br /> the Medical Office Utility Environmental Service Aides and <br /> transported to.the designate d.holding area where they. are placed <br /> in special cardboard containers marked Biohazard Waste. <br /> (e) Antineoplastic Waste: Transported in the same manner as medical <br /> waste to the Hazardous Waste room and placed in containers <br /> designated for Chemo Therapy Waste. <br /> 01179-105 (12.89) <br />
