In fact, audits recently conducted by the General Accounting Office (GAO) in regards to the pharmaceutical return goods procedures and inventory management practices of DOD/DVA facilities, resulted in several recommendations. The recommendation that all DOD and DVA facilities should utilize a contracted Pharmacy Reverse Distributor has now been adopted as a policy requirement.
