I have corrected all of the <br />infractions and completed the paperwork required for your office. <br />I would like to explain each infraction and how corrections were made: <br />A. Medical Waste Management Plan (MWMP) shall be updated to reflect proper <br />segregation, disposal, and treatment of waste pharmaceuticals. <br />1. Please c opy o f addendum t o M WMP. S enior MTA M cCart i s t he in edical <br />waste contract person. <br />B. Medical Waste tracking documents unavailable for review. <br />1. All documents in question copied and issued with this report. <br />C. HSC Section 118215 (a) requires waste pharmaceutical to be treated pursuant to this <br />section (118222(b) -incineration only. <br />1. Copy of contract with guarantee returns which specifies incineration of <br />pharmaceuticals. <br />D. Waste pharmaceuticals are being disposed of with regular sharps waste. <br />1. This practice has been stopped and separate containers have be established <br />with the proper labeling for PILLS ONLY <br />INCINERATE ONLY <br />E. One medical waste container had no lid and was overfilled. This violation was <br />corrected in your presence. One container did not have a tight fitting lid. <br />1. The lid was replaced to allow for a secure fit on the can. <br />F. Many sharps containers were being overfilled consistently. <br />1.
